Coaching with LEGO® Practitioner Certificate

Coach with clarity, confidence, and structure -

when words alone aren’t enough

Build deeper client breakthroughs. Create a signature coaching style clients remember.

The most memorable coaching happens when clients don’t just talk about change — they build it, see it, and feel it take shape.

The Coaching with LEGO® Practitioner Certificate equips you to integrate evidence-based coaching psychology with LEGO®-based visual thinking, so clients move beyond insight into clear, felt understanding — and you develop a distinctive coaching approach that differentiates your practice in a crowded market.

This is hands-on, practical coaching, designed for real coaching conversations — not theory, not gimmicks, and not facilitation training.

A practitioner certificate for coaches who want a safe, ethical, and structured way to help clients gain clarity and move forward, using LEGO® as a hands-on thinking tool.

By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

  • Work confidently with clients who feel stuck, overthinking, or disengaged

  • Use LEGO® as an optional, client-led reflective tool to unlock deeper insight, clarity, and meaning

  • Structure richer coaching conversations using the Triple-E Method (Engage–Explore–Expand)

  • Elevate coaching presence and listening by working with clients’ narratives, metaphors, and embodied representations

  • Facilitate courageous, creative, and psychologically safe coaching conversations

  • Maintain clear boundaries between coaching and therapy

  • Evoke insight without directing, interpreting, or advising

  • Guide clients from insight to meaningful, client-owned action using a visually grounded approach

  • Apply the BUILD framework to support clients from boundaries and safety through to clear direction and forward movement

You’ll especially love this if you want to

  • Work confidently with complexity without over-talking or over-analysing

  • Feel more confident when coaching feels stuck or uncertain

  • Reduce heavy, circular coaching conversations

What makes this different

Many coaches experiment with LEGO® as a fun activity.
This programme is different.

You’ll learn how to use LEGO®-based building as a serious coaching process, grounded in coaching psychology principles and ethical practice — not facilitation or entertainment.

This programme is not about adding more tools or techniques.
It gives you a clear coaching structure you can return to when coaching feels complex or uncertain.

At the core of the approach:

  • Safety comes before insight

  • Structure replaces guesswork

  • Clients generate meaning — the coach does not interpret

  • LEGO® is used as a thinking aid, not a gimmick

You’ll develop confidence in working with:

  • Metaphor and meaning-making without leading the client

  • Psychological safety and coaching presence

  • Client-led insight, not facilitator interpretation

  • Practical, repeatable structures you can use with confidence

The result is coaching that feels lighter, clearer, and more effective — for both coach and client.

This is a practitioner approach that helps clients access what they already know — faster, deeper, and with greater ownership.

The methods you’ll learn

You’ll learn a practical coaching sequence you can apply again and again in real coaching conversations.

The programme combines two complementary elements:

1. The Triple-E Method (Engage - Explore - Expand)

A clear, repeatable flow that helps you:

  • Explain the purpose of the approach and create safety and buy-in

  • Engage clients through building and metaphor, rather than over-talking

  • Explore meaning through powerful questions — not assumptions or interpretation

  • Expand insight into action, commitment, and sustainable next steps

This gives you confidence in how to run the conversation, from start to finish.

2. The BUILD Framework (the structure beneath the flow)

The Triple-E sequence sits within BUILD, a simple, professional coaching framework that guides clients from safety to direction.

  • B - Boundaries & Safety
Establish ethical clarity and psychological safety

  • U - Understanding
Help clients make sense of what’s really happening

  • I - Insight
    Support client-generated awareness

  • L - Leverage Options
Explore possibilities without advice or problem-solving

  • D - Direction
Enable confident forward movement that the client owns

Together, BUILD provides the structure, and Triple-E provides the sequence.

The result is coaching that helps clients emerge with insight, clear actions, and sustainable next steps — without pressure, over-analysis, or coach-led interpretation.

You’ll also practise how to translate a build into

Coaching questions that evoke awareness

Client-generated insight and meaning

Exploration of options without interpretation

Clear, client-owned direction

By the end of the programme you will be able to

  • Integrate the BUILD framework confidently into your existing coaching style, without disrupting how you already work

  • Decide when (and when not) to introduce LEGO® in a session, based on client readiness and context

  • Facilitate LEGO®-based coaching activities ethically and confidently, without over-interpreting client models

  • Use metaphor-based building to explore identity, values, goals, change, blocks, and strengths in a client-led way

  • Create and maintain psychological safety, especially when working with complexity or uncertainty

  • Run both short “micro-builds” (5–10 minutes) and deeper coaching sequences (30–60 minutes)

  • Adapt the approach for 1:1 coaching sessions, rather than workshops or facilitation

  • Explain your approach clearly and confidently in a way clients understand — and want

This programme is designed to support professional coaching practice with care and rigour.

There is a strong emphasis on:

  • Psychological safety, contracting, consent, and clear boundaries

  • Keeping meaning-making client-led, with no “reading” or interpreting client models

  • Clear guidance on what this approach is — and is not — appropriate for

The programme is aligned with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Core Competencies and is eligible for Continuing Coach Education (CCE) hours.

LEGO®-based visual methods are used throughout the programme as a core coaching approach, supporting ethical, client-centred coaching behaviours such as presence, listening, evoking awareness, and facilitating client growth — always in a client-led and professionally boundaried way.
